just watched a documentary / show on Current TV called vanguard. story was the war on weed. The majority of the show was about the outrageous stop and frisk policy of the NYPD. One white woman almost went into diabetic shock because they would not let her get her insulin kit. all over 5$ worth of weed.
I have read simliar reports of this rediculous procedure. but whats really astonishing is the numbers. something like 700,000 stop and frisks performed each year. most of them violating our federal and constitutional rights.. physically searching w/o any sort of probable cause.. Also showed the "safety towers" the city is putting up all over... look like guard towers to me.
