I know there is plenty of info on the web but wanted to know if anyone here has successfully built a wood gasifier? I have been collecting the materials to build one to try and run an old generator. Any tips on weather to go with an updraft or down draft design? things to avoid... I know filtering is important to keep the tar out of the engine as best as possible anything else to think about?

Tried to build one once .. gases ended up igniting inside of the secondary container. Had to use a smaller outlet to reduce o2 inflow ended up using an upper radiator hose out of a old ford truck. But never hooked up to a generator . Lots easier when you use a propane/natural gas generator theta is easily converted.. much hard when you go from a liquid to a gas for fuel
