want to get a .22 for my gf for her bday next week so doesn't like my sig 522 because its to heavy so i was thinking ruger 10/22 or smith 15/22. whats a better option in your opinion. Also with the 10/22 she likes the ati stock that comes pinned for ny legal for $100 so it would bring me around $400 for the ruger and the smith is only about $450 NY LEGAL. which way should i go reliability accuracy etc. thanks guy

yea i called $279 seems a little high tho
It's about exactly the same weight as the 522, though. Doesn't really solve the problem of the 522 being too heavy.
is it? The GSG5 I think is pretty darn light, even youngins ive had shoot mine havnt had a problem. I just assumed it was lighter than the 522.
Hard to get lighter unless you shop for something like a bolt action synthetic stocked Savage Mark II. They are good simple guns at a very attractive price point.

They're both about 6.5 lbs, according to the internet. Could save some forward weight on the GSG5 if you take off that barrel shroud, though. A 10/22 CRR, on the other hand, is about 4.5 lbs, and probably better balanced. Replacing the solid wood stock with a hollow plastic stock may save a little weight, too.
Im waiting to go to the range and shoot some. 22s
Name the time and place!!
I should be free next sat. deff... set something up
