want to get a .22 for my gf for her bday next week so doesn't like my sig 522 because its to heavy so i was thinking ruger 10/22 or smith 15/22. whats a better option in your opinion. Also with the 10/22 she likes the ati stock that comes pinned for ny legal for $100 so it would bring me around $400 for the ruger and the smith is only about $450 NY LEGAL. which way should i go reliability accuracy etc. thanks guy

is it? The GSG5 I think is pretty darn light, even youngins ive had shoot mine havnt had a problem. I just assumed it was lighter than the 522.It's about exactly the same weight as the 522, though. Doesn't really solve the problem of the 522 being too heavy.
Hard to get lighter unless you shop for something like a bolt action synthetic stocked Savage Mark II. They are good simple guns at a very attractive price point.
They're both about 6.5 lbs, according to the internet. Could save some forward weight on the GSG5 if you take off that barrel shroud, though. A 10/22 CRR, on the other hand, is about 4.5 lbs, and probably better balanced. Replacing the solid wood stock with a hollow plastic stock may save a little weight, too.is it?
