I have an old '70s Westernfield .308 bolt action rifle. I was thinkin about making some updates to it, mainly the stock. I don't mind the old wooden standby, but I'm curious if there is a synthetic stock out there that it could use? Or would I have to have one made to order specifically for it?

I would find out if is a Savage, Marlin, or what-the-hell-was-the-name of that Austrian company that made a lot of the Sears/Penneys guns
then, you might have a chance

I think that was the Montgomery Ward store brand. Sears was JC Higgins and Ted Williams later IIRC.

To the OP: try Googling your rifles model number and 'original manufacturer'. I have seen at least one WF bolt rifle that was a Mauser 3000, and I know that Mossberg OEMed a lot of rimfires and bolt shotguns for MW over the years.
