<hand raised> Anyone else make guns from leftover 2x4's, clothespins, rubber bands, and removable soda can tabs?

"I guess as a parent, I should be at fault for not teaching him that pulling bark off a tree will kill it. I made sure to cover sex, drugs, drinking, responsibility, honesty and God, but trees, that one slipped my mind,"

Actually she forgot respect for public/private property.

Yeah, I'm sure you did nothing of the sort when you were a kid.

Who hasnt peeled bark from a tree? So, these kids were charged with felonies which is a stigma that could follow them for life if convicted... yet, iolent criminals get lwt off with a slap on the wrist only to repeat real crime. My head hurts.

gezzz, whats the charge for carving your initials in tree......aggravated assault & battery, assault with a deadly weapon?

This country has gone to s*** in hand bag, we got police arresting children, citizens burning their own neighborhoods down and a Leader who is not only a liar, but a coward.

Stop the planet, I want to get off

So now our children are not even safe from the police. Why even bother teaching our children to have respect for the police when they will just get arrested for doing typical childhood games. Children are getting shot for playing Wii, getting arrested for playing with Nerf guns, getting burned form flash grenades and getting arrested for having autism. A lot of police departments in this country are a disgrace to America.

I did not read this, but children can not be charged with a Felony
quite an untrue statement...they most definitely can. as the old "no child under 14 can be tried as an adult" theory gets tossed out the window too, if it's a henious crime..etc..murder, rape and others.

How did the whole thing go down? Neighbor spies the debarkers thru window and calls cops? Or, neighbor tells the children to stop taking the bark off the tree, the 13 yo's start acting like minigangstas until finally cuffed and booked?

Another thing I find weird is that I did peel the bark off trees as a kid, lots of it in fact, and those same trees are still standing in my parents yard, except for the one that was taken down cuz Termites ate the roots - so it seems to me that the town is replacing the tree due to the slim possibility that it MIGHT die much later from the peeled bark.
