Yes.

Having such for protection and not protecting them from oppressors is a complete misunderstanding about what ownership for defence is all about to the point of never should have had them to begin with.

Ultra basic:
Unlawful order is an order that would be a breach of the sworn oath every enlistee takes.
Orders that are in direct violation of the Geneva convention are also considered unlawful.

Problem is, its so tedious and time consuming to report with results not always being what one would consider ideal that its just easier to shoot the prson giving the order right then and there
(but not if ordered to, as that would be unlawful)
