I saw this ad posted on craigslist.

And replied back to the poster asking if they found anything yet and I would be more than happy to pitch in my time to build out a area with backers for targets or help clean up a area from brass and trash or even donate funds to get a area built out.

Anyhow I called Town Of Newburgh PD and inquired about target shooting in the woods and they confirmed that as long as all the state guidelines are followed such as min distnce, not over a highway, good backstop that you are good to go.

So now its just finding a suitable spot. Anyone have any ideas in the Orange County/Hudson Valley area? I live in The Town Of Newburgh off of route 300 going toward New Platz and I can swear the past 2 weekends I heard target shooting in the evening. That is was got me to call The Town Ofd Newburgh PD to see how legit it was and they told me people all over the area do it.

i have a spot on my property near kingston ny. if i could get donations to purchase a few more materials i need. i would gladly let fellow forum members come over and shoot.

What would you need and how much? Guess that could be discussed over a PM. I would pitch in in order to setup something for us to come shoot at privately. To run some advanced pistol and carbine stuff or some long range shooting.
About how long of a range would it be. Even if it was short I would be down. I am tired of shooting my AK off a bench and not being able to do some of the more advanced stuff

shoot me a PM. i have about 45-50yrds max. perfect for pistol but have a ridge where i setup a little longer range 75yrd for shotgun/rifle . if you have facebook, AIM, etc add that in the pm. we will actually be shooting wednesday afternoon me and a few fellow officers.

Also looking for a place to shoot. I have called the DEC and asked about target shooting and their is NO WHERE LEGAL to target shoot on state lands EAST of the hudson. Their is some land to hunt on only during season. Only option is private property and shooting ranges.
