I am writing to you in a matter that I consider of extreme importance and great concern.
Like many citizens and parents I am horrified about the senseless murders of little innocent children and
other citizens in school shootings. I think we had enough of this and everyone knows that something
needs to be done by putting political ideas aside and work as one.
But the series of events that followed the shootings and how the media has been managing the news
is very disturbing.
The media fueled by a national hysteria has been using the airwaves and the internet to misinform the
public about the facts and, by rejecting precious opportunities for dialogue, ideas and cooperation has
been directly or indirectly helping political groups with radical agendas for disarmament of the
population to push their agendas.
Please let me remind you that the role of the broadcaster is to inform, to enlighten and to educate and
not to accuse, persecute or confuse the public about issues that are of extreme importance to the future
of our nation.
The line between investigating and accusing is a very fine one and the news channels all over the country
have been steeping over it continuously.
The media has been using its privileged position to confuse the public mind about the dangers of firearms
enthusiasts referring to honest hard working citizens almost as outlaws, portrait-ed as a lower class,
maybe less educated.
I don't have to remind you of the importance of our constitution including the right to free speech and the right
to bear arms and defend ourselves. The media has been very quiet about the potential benefits of properly
educated firearms owners and what they can contribute to resolve the existing security problems.
I have been very surprised about the lack of healthy, well moderated debate on radio and television as well as
the absence of factual data that the news channels should rely on.
Therefore I have decided to request the cancellation of my contract with your company. Logically and ethically
I cannot continue to support any corporations that are part of the broadcasting networks that use the resources
funded by consumers who are regular citizens like me and to support political agendas to further exploit the
fears of a confused and sensitive population.
Once I see that authentic broadcasting has returned to the airwaves I might consider to resume the services
with your company. In the mean time the TV is nothing but a box w/o any meaning to me.

It will add about $100 to my pocket every month and take $100 out of theirs. That is something to me.Honestly this will do nothing...
Look at the fight between MSG and Timewarner earlier that year that actually cost both those companies money and they couldn't come to an agreement with out a 3rd party.
Why would anyone not be able to cancel?If you absolutely can't cancel cable, then do not watch CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS for any kind of news.
