Hey guys, finally got to submit my permit application today in Madison County. Pretty painless, only took a little over a half hour. I got the same timeline from the deputy who did my prints as everyone else has been posting. She said Albany is behind on processing mental health checks, so expect the permit to take 4-6 months.

Yeah I wrote down "Hunting, target shooting, protection, please consider unrestricted" in the reasons for wanting a permit section. Hopefully I get unrestricted first try. I just wish the wait wasn't so long. I guess that just gives me extra time to decide which pistol I'm going to buy when I get the permit. istols:
