The bolt in my mosin never used to be sticky. But at the range a couple weeks ago after every shot it took a gargantuan effort to open the bolt. Normally I use Bulgarian silver tip but the range doesn't allow steel core so I tried tula steel case fmj. I also stripped, cleaned, and oiled the bolt prior to this. I'm trying to figure out if the sticky bolt is from the ammo or something to do with me taking the bolt apart.

Steel case likely has a lacquer finish on it which is melting off upon firing and coating the chamber with sticky goodness. Chuck up a 12 gauge bore brush in a drill, soak with Hoppes or a decent bore cleaner, and clean that **** out of there.
