I dropped off my permit around the end of august (20th?). Was called the next day to set up an appt for finger prints, and got in on the 22nd to get my prints done.

Was told by the clerk when I dropped off my permit, that it was 6 months to a year of wait.

Has anyone gone through the whole process recently? I had heard on the news that there was a complaint in Gouverneur about a person not receiving theirs for over a year but didn't pay attention to the story at the time.

Also, side note, looks like we are stuck with Judge Richards again here who from what I gather believes no one needs an unrestricted permit and the restrictions are outlined right in the application.

Thanks,
D

Gf got a call for an interview on hers, apparently they will need a copy of her hunting license.

Edit:
This is also the first anyone had heard of an in interview in SLC according to everyone we talked to.

I just had my interview on the first. The sheriff stopped by and questioned me in my pjs. Asked for extra refferences too, but said my app looked good.

Just got mine in the mail, I believe it was just over 5 months. I'm ok with that. Not so ok with the outdoor sports restriction, but hey I live outside so not really a restriction am I right? :p

Lol....

Heard a girl dropped off her app 2 months ago and she had her interview today and all of her references were just called.... I just called the clerk and asked what was going on "it's been sent to investigations, it could take up to a year" some serious crap going on. Called the local PD they said it might have to do with my address, clerk said it didn't but she updated my address anyway.

I hate this ****ing state.

Gf still hasn't heard back in hers she's 6 months out, but as I said earlier, she's had her interview and her references called since December..

Edit: how on earth is this at all cost effective for the state?

Its not about the money, its about how much they can restrict your rights.

Well. Had 2 references that I know were called, I assume the other 2 as well. I haven't had an interview, but I know the officer that is doing the interview personally. I'm sure I'll still get called in for one.

Girlfriend's interviewing officer said that hers "should be on the way" the same thing he said approx 2 months ago

I have been through the entire process, still waiting for letter or permit in mail since Feb 2014. I have annoyed the clerks to the point that my assigned detective has emailed me and said that i just need to sit back and wait.:bs:

Not sure about Jeff county, but I think at least in St. Law they are supposed to provide you with a letter stating why it is taking longer than the normal "6-12 month" waiting period. I think it was on the paperwork I filled out. That said, not 100% sure what to do about it past calling and complaining that you haven't received any thing yet.

Recent waits that people I have been references for in the big country over the past two year have been anywhere from 4 months to 14 months. There have not been any connecting threads to the ones that were quicker vs. longer. Have ranged from school teachers to corrections officers and college students fresh out of their senior year.
