IIRC A-10's capture all the brass they expend. A reloader's dream.

Weren't the A10's supposed to be pulled as obsolete some time ago?

And in fact, aren't they GROUND SUPPORT aircraft? As in, killing tanks and such for the GROUND TROOPS?

This may be one of those things that make you go hmmmmm.....

Ahhhh. The Pres is just sending those overseas so they can't be used against his domestic military -ahem- police force when the SHTF here. I bet a dozen of those could route all the MRAPs given to the police agencies here in the US in less than a week...

Good anti-vehicle, anti-cover, anti-material support aircraft. A flying wall of steel. I think they're a little more precise than the hovering C-130 gunship concept.

Well we left ISIS lots of ground units for them to deploy after the Iraqis **** their pants and ran and hid.

ISIS has M1 Abrahms if you can beleive the reports... just not the latest electronics.

I hope a new generation of asshats gets to fear the devil's cross.

I am going to order one of these in honor of the deployment.

Nothing irks me more than watching ISIS parade around in captured American armored Humvees and equipment. Would love to see one of those videos interrupted with the ZIP sound of a 30mm taking them out.

As much as it sucks Let them parade , they are at a disadvantage using american armor , we know our own equipments strengths , weakeness, and capabilities. If it gets real those tanks and humvees won't be around long , they can't scurry in a hole and hide like a rat with an Abrams .

A10 is one of my favorite aircraft. It is made to destroy anything that touches the ground. They wanted to scrap it because the military brass gets a hard on for "Multi-role" aircraft. But they never work as well. The Joint strike fighter won't outfight an F-22 or F16, and it won't attack ground targets as well as an A10. It does have some fancy avionics. But sometimes you just need more gun, not better optics.
