So threaded muzzles are a no-no for post ban rifles, I understand that.

What about those slip on muzzle breaks that clamp around your front sight? Not planning on doing it to my AK anytime soon but I figure if I ever get a cheap WASR I want to franken-gun up would this be legal?

Side note regarding AK looking variants.
There are sight blocks that have threading on them for slip over devices.
(24mm IIRC)
Those would also be complaint if it were brake or comp spun on yet not perm'd with pin or weld as the threads are on the seperate sight tower, not the barrel itself.

Check forum archives as I seem to recall Sprout47 had some good words of wisdom about such.

Ah, you put a break on your AK? notice any difference in recoil or accuracy? I was debating weather or not to do it with my SAR-1 but I've got it exactly how I want it I'm not sure I want to add anything else to it.

Saiga 7.62 converted w/ak74 style brake.

Yes, it did change the feel and cut down muzzle jump a fair amount
(mostly lateral, not so much on verticle)
It also made it insanely loud to everyone but the shooter.

Cool effect when flames come out at right angles though

Clamp on devices are fine as long as they are brakes and not FHs

Sounds pretty neat, what does it look like? My Nagant break looks like a mini silencer lol.

Also how hard did you have to pound it on there? I don't wanna scrape up the muzzle of my AK
