Every informational piece I receive from the DEC has the same paragraph giving credit to the Gov. Andrew Cuomo for opening the Empire State to everything. I would interview someone about this initative; however, as a member of the New York State Outdoor Writers Association, I'm forced to call Albany for permission to be granted to talk to someone ... anyone.

Then, a "media specialist" is required to join the conversation to make sure nothing improper is being discussed. I can't even talk to a biologist for a simple deer management story without being monitored.
