Going to take a 50 year old shotgun out tommorrow... I have cleaned it multiple times and the bore is still all scraped up on the inside.. But it does not have any cracks or hangs or rust.

Should be safe to put a couple slugs through right?

I'd say yes. But then I'm way over here. I think you'll have to make that call on your own.

lol well i appreciate it.... I think i may just ratchet it to a tree and pull the trigger with a rope.... going out into the middle of nowhere tomorrow to shoot. if it works then ill shoulder it.

I have a mossberg 500 barrel that is starting to look like this towards the bottom, not sure what it is, possibly the chroming coming off, I still shoot it, shotguns pretty much never fail, and I honestly don't even notice less accuracy using my barrel.

Shoots like a champ. Definately hurt the shoulder with 16.5in barrel tho. Only using birdshot from now on....
