I am looking for a scope to mount on top of my carry handle on an AR. I am looking at the Burris Timberline.

My question is:

What does these specs mean? Scope 1 - 2x-7x-26mm
Scope 2 - 3x-9x-32mm

Which do I want?

Scope links:

Based on the site they will probably not have it in stock so you will place an order get charged or not I am not sure but later
will get a note it is not in stock. I am guessing because the same have been happening to a friend in a couple of those
generic referral type of websites. May want to call them or use the chat in advance.

BTW for the AR you want the 2x7 is more than plenty plus it is faster adquisition. The reason is in the x2 magnification you can shoot 2 eyes open in urban type of scenario with all FOV needed for those type of tactics.
Even in drills is a very good option. the comp works great. I have both so I give you my advice based on 1st hand experience. They are an amazing value for the marksman in a very light small package. 12oz I think.

so the 2x7 will go from 2x magnification to 7x magnification?
Yes. and in 2 magnification you can do 2 eyes open and clip targets left and right. With a 3-9 you in the x3 setting you cannot do that or at least as efficiently. At least my brain is not able to put a decent picture together with both eyes open. That is why I found 2-7 the best option from 25 yards to, well, as far as the AR/AK can go. you have also some other tacticalized 1.5-8, 1-4 and 1.5-6 or so but I found the little burris to be a great value and the comp reticle tracks really well to ball ammo. Simple is good.

For 199.99 you can get a Vortex SPARC with lifetime warranty. If you go to 3 Rivers Precison and put in code (macsparc) you get an additional percentage off worth $20.00
