No I luckily purchased one from classic firearms last batch about a year ago, if haven't seen them pop up since. Was wondering if anyone had any information as to why or if they would pop upo again. As I'm now seeing the prices on the few on the auction sites go way above what I paid for mine. Was a lucky investment I guess.

i bought a M44 thinking the bayonet was awesome. but now i just find it annoying as it makes it heavy and it shoots better extended so i have to be sure its clean too when i am done shooting.

i wonder where all the 91/59 models went. i never seen them for sale, and rarely see them on gun broker

I think supplies dried up on the m38 and 91/59 long before the trade embargoes. I paid $200 for mine a year ago and never saw them offered commercially again and now I'm seeing them sell for over $500 some with absurd high reserves too. Never saw more than 2-3 on gunbroker at a time which is also a sign they are dried up as far as surplus goes.

I love my M44 and it's def more accurate with the bayo extended.
That is exactly how they were test fired. The bayonet MUST be extended for the weapon to be accurate. This goes for EVERY 91/30 variation except for the 91/59. As for the 91/59....why buy a 44 or 38 when the 91/59 is the more accurate of the bunch?

I saw a 91/59 at a gun show for $240 recently, and like a fool, I hesitated. When I went back to get it, it was gone. Still kicking myself for that one.

I want an M38 but havent seen any lately either. I REALLY want a Finn M39 and a local gunshop down here has like 4 of them in their showroom for 300-400ish, I'm kicking myself for not putting one on lay-away. God dammit I am kicking myself.

I LOVE my M44. It's more suitable for an urban environment and an apartment than a full-sized Mosin. It handles better and is easier to shoot offhand. (And it fits better in my vehicle.)
