Anyone else notice these have disappeared from the surplus market and the one or two I've seen on gunbroker are fetching $500+.
That is exactly how they were test fired. The bayonet MUST be extended for the weapon to be accurate. This goes for EVERY 91/30 variation except for the 91/59. As for the 91/59....why buy a 44 or 38 when the 91/59 is the more accurate of the bunch?I love my M44 and it's def more accurate with the bayo extended.
I saw a 91/59 at a gun show for $240 recently, and like a fool, I hesitated. When I went back to get it, it was gone. Still kicking myself for that one. That is exactly how they were test fired. I LOVE my M44. It's more suitable for an urban environment and an apartment than a full-sized Mosin. It handles better and is easier to shoot offhand. Shame you moved,I could have helped you out.....I want an M38 but havent seen any lately either. I REALLY want a Finn M39 and a local gunshop down here has like 4 of them in their showroom for 300-400ish, I'm kicking myself for not putting one on lay-away. God dammit I am kicking myself.
