watching a video about soccer fans coming to the aid of another soccer fan when the police went to far made me think about this situation again.

why didnt anyone their come to this guys defense? is it because everyone was in shock at what was happening? i was imagining what would have happened if 10-20 people just peacefully formed a line in front of this guy? im sure someone would have been arrested for that in this state and we all know that 99.9% dont want to be arrested.

but what if everyone there decided to defend this situation. the guy wasnt breaking any laws, it was a bs sign put up that morning saying no toy guns.... and that is not a law.

just food for thought.

Had he refused and been tackled I wonder how many people on here would defend the police?

"Oh it coulda been a real AR with an orange painted tip, theres no way to tell."

If we had formed a line, we would have been maced at the very least, and the news for the next week would lead with what scary terrorists we all are. We would have been charged with terrorism , disturbing the peace, assault, menacing, and anything else they could think up, and Shooter would have a lot more active clients than he does now. We still should have done it anyway.

It was over by the time me and shooter got there. As SOON as I heard it, I grabbed shooter and we made our way to the scene. Had we arrived during the event, I can assure you that there would have been some legalese tossed around... the last thing we wanted to do was to give these ass-clowns in the buildings behind us any form of "ammunition" to further label us as domestic terrorists AND have some evidence to support it.

...we were also unarmed.. ;)

im certainly not advocating any violence, nor am I saying anything negative about people who witnessed this event (keep in mind the police confiscated a wooden cut out of an AR, which is clearly not a firearm, its just a prop).

my point is, that when there is no doubt that no law is being broken, and its simply a matter of over reach, people need to stand up for each other. that doesnt mean put the boots to someone, but you can come to someones defense, and there is certainly power in numbers.

Absolutely.. and I can tell you with confidence that this is exactly what we intended to do. We just got there too late..

Believe me, we would have made some noise.

If we did form a line then get Maced, the amount of cash that would be flowing to us would have been staggering ! Cuomo,s goons would have had to take a paycut just to pay us after the jury found that the state had violated our rights ! Yep it's a would have , should have , moment !

im hoping discussions like this can motivate others to be aware of situations like this and to not let it happen like this again. This is the type of proactive approach we need to be taking when facing this kind of tyranny. we cant sit back and watch our fellow citizens be violated like this, we need to step up, and push back.

This was posted right after the rally. I've already gone on record as stating I WOULD have stood right next to that pissed off patriot had I known this was happening. I was there that day and saw him earlier .... but wasn't nearby when this happened. :(

As I recall the staties first took from the guy in patriot garb, a toy orange tipped AR, then he taunted them if they were going to take the plywood cutout also, which they did. They told patriot guy he could get his toy and sign back afterwards. Don't know if he did retrieve his property. It seems to me that when they took the sign they violated his first amendment rights. With all the plain clothes police walking around just begging to find something to jump on it's a wonder that this was all that happened. If not for the cameras on the scene, I'm sure the SP would have done worst. Cuomo's personal thug squad was out in force that day.
Remember the last minute sign fiasco?

the guy is a member of this forum (after this situation he signed up i believe; he goes by manmountain82 i think).

and he did file a suit against the state.

the entire point of my thread was to point out that this was a perfect situation for people to come to this guys defense and stand up to the gestapo that illegally confiscated his property.

Well this was towards the back of the crowd from what it looks like. I do remember at the first rally in Albany after the passing of the unSAFE Act, the big one, that Troopers asked a guy to get down from one of the statues and it kind of set the crowd into an uproar, and his rights weren't really being infringed upon. Had the confiscation happened in the front of the crowd, I think it may have been a different situation.

Close. It's mountian 127.

Yes, he did get it back. I went down to the Ct. rally a few days later with him.
