The police department accused Boch's group of "abusing" a program intended to fight Chicago's crime rate.

"The amount of gun violence in Chicago is simply unacceptable and the impact of gun violence is far reaching," the police department said in a statement. "There's a ripple effect following every shooting incident that we all feel. We host the Gun Turn-In event on an annual basis to encourage residents to turn in their guns so that we take firearms off our streets and it's unfortunate that this group is abusing a program intended to increase the safety of our communities."
They don't mention how THEY abuse people's naivety by pretending that they actually accomplish something with these buybacks. Of course. Scammers always hate when the scam gets flipped. And wasting tax dollars and resources on publicity stunts is a scam.

That is pretty funny. Kudos to them for using the system to get kids instruction on safe shooting and handling of firearms.

I guess they don't think proper handling makes for a safer community. They want the kid to find a gun and not know what to do except pull the trigger. Take away the mystery you take away the fascination and allure.

Chicago was just in the national news the other night for having a sky rocketing violent crime rate. Murders are through the roof. Open season for criminals - all the unarmed sheeple have no chance of fighting back. Yet there are no guns allowed throughout all of Illinois. CCW right blatantly denied. Perhaps the media fabricated the entire story? Chicago is the real-life depiction of Mr. Rogers neighborhood, we all know that. If you don't want to ever risk being killed by thugs, or having your home invaded, just move on over to Chicago where crime doesn't exist because no one is allowed to own handguns!

I'd say those overzealous gun control laws are working out just fantastically for Chi-town...

Yahoo News said:
Emanuel--formerly President Barack Obama's White House chief of staff and a Chicago-area congressman--is asking that even gang members show some regard for innocent children, and take their brawls "away to the alley."
Maybe if Rahm writes a few poems and invites all the thugs in Chicago to some recitals of coom-bye-ah where everyone sits in a circle and holds hands...
