just a heads up for anyone local they have a lot of ammo and reloading supplies. lots of large and small rifle primers, a good handful of powders, even some brass, etc... they also have every caliber ammo you could want, although prices are still on the high side. one decent deal they had was the M855 (green tip 62gr) 5.56 ammo at $299 for 500 in a 50 cal can. not a terrible price. they also had the fiocchi plastic cans with 80 rounds of 00buckshot for 70 bucks. loads of new 50 cal ammo cans for $20 each too.
Iirc I think the lrp were 50 for 1000. And I don't recall if the had pistol primers... for some reason I think the had large but no small.
I know collector has some decent ammo stock but yhe prices are high and its terribly disorganized. I buy most of my guns from collector because his prices are as cheap as budsgunshop and no one can touch em. I did buy my xd45 from precision a while back.
Hmm, that's interesting never got that vibe and he even lowered his sticker price for me when I bought my xd. And when I go to buy a gun I do my homework so I know more about the gun I want than the dealer, and even most of their guns for that matter. My only questions are how much, or how long to get it in...
Yea, he did that to me for a few guns and then lied to my face about the condition and history of a Garand I bought from him. He claimed that it was never issued, all matching, shiny bore, etc. I trusted him so I bought it. It was a mix of parts, a new stock and a heavily pitted bore. Yea, I should have known what I was buying but I had come to trust Ed.
Yeah I had a very similar experience with Ed the owner... He is nothing more than a liar and does a great job at misrepresenting items that you are not knowledgable on. Don't let your guard down in this store!! He screwed me on a carbine after I bought around $10k worth of guns from him!!! Will never go back... His loss.
I've known Eddie Ryan for about 30 years, from the old Yonkers Raceway and County Center gun shows. He was quite the wheeler dealer and good with his prices, probably the biggest Glock seller of his time. I think his prices are on the high side, especially his gun prices. Colllector outsells everyone around here combined, but I'm getting some bad reports about them also. My 02, not that you asked for it.
Wont buy from Precision, during the panic, Ed was selling an 800 dollar Stag AR for 3k. Listen, its a free market and he has the right to sell whatever he wants for whatever price, I just wont buy from him.
Despite his high prices, I really tried to give this LGS my business. Every time...and I mean _every time_ I've visited the store I was disappointed, walked out empty handed.
Classic example. Back when the Ruger SR1911 first became available, I went to Precision Armory. When I asked about the gun, he had never heard of it. I gave him some info and was told "if he didn't have it, it wasn't available". I drove from there to Collectors and bought a new SR1911.
I seen it go both ways with Ed, my friend and I have bought a few guns from there and every time my friend gets annoyed cause he expects a break on tax or something with ammo or accessories but doesn't get one. On the other hand cause I know/ went to school with one of Ed's employees any time I pay with cash tax's are waved and ammos thrown in with the gun being bought... Follow precision on facebook, they'll usually post up "sales" or "deals" on guns or ammo usually once or twice a month.
