Sup guys i know there was a thread about pinning a str i had it favorited on my laptop but that **** the bed and i can find it using the search function or google on my iphone...anyone have any pointers for a first timer...or how to make this thing permanent

Yah theres a rubber part u remove to throw in the batteries guess i could drill thru there
I'm not talking about the rubber plug...I'm talking about the tubes themselves. When the ACS stock first came out, you could removed the end plate then pop off the battery tubes. Later, Magpul changed the design and pinned the tubes in place. I haven't held a STR to see if that is the case or not.

The magpul tubes have always been pinned, they just use rivets instead of a single roll pin on the STR due to the location of a threaded insert for the back cap. Just drill the rivets out(one per tube) and install short roll pins in the end when your done. You can then crossdrill and pin the stock through the detent rail and lock it solid so it doesn't wiggle(no need for epoxy if done correctly).
