Could they have picked a more corrupt and anti-2A group of legislators?

Capitol Confidential » PBA of NYS gives endorsements

"PBA endorsements are reached through a combination of interviews and questionnaires, and are based on a number of factors, including voting records, bill sponsorship and general support on issues important to the PBA membership.
First Round Endorsements:

In the Senate, the PBA endorses Senate Co-Leader Dean Skelos, R-Rockville Centre; Senate Co-Leader Jeff Klein, D-Bronx; Martin Golden, R-Brooklyn; Mark Grisanti, R-Buffalo; Timothy Kennedy, D-Buffalo; Ted O'Brien, D-Irondequoit; Patricia Ritchie, R-Watertown; Joseph Robach, R-Rochester; and Diane Savino D-Staten Island.

In the Assembly, the PBA has endorsed Speaker Sheldon Silver, D-Manhattan; Peter Abbate, Jr., D-Brooklyn; and Herman "Denny" Farrell, Jr., D-Manhattan."

The PBA has zero interest in OUR 2A rights

It's more of the "us-vs-them" mentality being inculcated by the militarization of the police.

Not one of them can count on me for assistance if their butts are in a wringer. There's too much weirdness emanating from 5-0 these days - too many shot dags, too many bad entries.

The PBA will never see a penny from myself in donations, if an officer is injured or killed on the job locally and they are good on 2Am rights, I will certainly donate to their family at a fundraiser, but never through the PBA.

Joe Robach is an exception: Strong 2A supporter and all around good guy, I hate to see his name grouped with the rest of these slime balls.
Agreed. He is my Senator. I thanked him last year at an event in my town for his no vote to SAFE, and told him I hoped he would continue to support the Constitutional rights of his constituents.

The rest of that group can go to hell, as well as the PBA. Effiin traitors.

Most of the cops that I know are strongly pro-2A and in no way feel like it's them against us (law abiding citizen gun owners.) They know that criminals are the problem and that, by definition, they don't follow laws. Union endorsements rarely have anything to do with how their members feel. Politics occurs at the top of the departments and the unions, not with the grunts on the street.

Certain people look for so-called "us vs them" in anything and everything law enforcement. That's just the way it is. I've never even heard of this organization and apparently they only represent a few small departments in the state which likely shouldn't be legally considered police anyway. Who cares who they endorse?

I had a typical sales call from the PBA reps last week. While he was reading his script, I interrupted him and said until the police in NYS speak out in unison against the UnSafe Act, I won't give a single penny. He then continued on with his script at which point I hung up on him. IMHO, you are either part of the problem or part of the solution.

Don't take it out on the individual cops. I've met my share of SUNY, DEC and Parks police - personally and professionally. Most of them are on our side.

The real problem is the union leadership who's in bed with the lawmakers. It's up to the union membership to shake things up at union hall and decide what's more important - pay/benefits/job security, or their Constitutional rights.

I would hope everyone cares who this group endorses because an endorsement always means MONEY!! It's also a statement of whom and what they stand for. ... it's not support for the law abiding, freedom loving Americans that's for sure. They're endorsing progressive anti-Americans!! You don't care who they endorse?? Why is that? Is your department or PBA endorsing those with the same agenda as the princess as well??

My union very rarely endorses anyone. We endorsed Romney and Lhota most recently and did not endorse Cuomo. I don't care about their endorsement because if I cared about every union endorsement I'd lose my hair. Do you concern yourself with every union endorsement you come across?

organization doesn't represent most cops anyway. Certainly not me. And look at which departments there members are in: SUNY police at stonybrook?, NYS park police, NYS state forest rangers, the NYS environmental conservation police. Uhm, while I am sure they might see some dangers and some "police" work, they are considered the step-children of law enforcement. It's kind of calling podiatrists " doctors " among other types of doctors.

no offense to those departments or it's members. They face real dangers but it's not the same work environment as most police departments.

At least it looks like this PBA only comprised of SUNY Police, State Park Police, DEC and Park rangers. So it's not like it is comprised of every officer in the state.
So in other words they represent mostly security guards.

Union endorsements really mean dick to me anyway. I'm a CSEA member and they endorse **** heads every time.

That's what you get for having a land line.
