The joke's on us though.

A lot of the nonsense depends on who your judge is. I do agree with the "Disorganized, dishonest, slow" though. I've had them loose amendments, send me someone else's permit card, and I've had it take well over a month to get a gun added to my permit.

Sorry you're having problems, I got my Unrestricted in 6 Months from the date it went to the judge, never lost anything and have had all my amendments within 5 days.

I haven't had any problems with the permit office in Orange county. I know they have been moved around due to the mold problems in the county building after hurricane Irene last summer. My snowmobile registrations were mailed to someone else this past fall because the DMV office was affected by this too. Maybe that has contributed to your wait? Have you followed up with them? 16 months sounds like your app may have been misplaced in the process. Good luck.

I've had good luck with them as well...did you walk everything in or do it all by mail? I went in, handed the paperwork to the nice lady and we wished each other a nice day....no more than 2 weeks on amendments...for me at least.

I bet it has nothing to do with the depression. I bet someone just lost your file. Mine took a long time as well and I thought it had to do with a couple of disclosures I had made on the application. The first time I called to follow up I was told they were waiting on an old address verification in Vegas. I never lived in Vegas. After a few more calls it turns out my investigator went on vacation and my file ended up at the bottom of a pile on someone else's desk. Keep calling.

sorry to hear about your experience. I got my unrestricted permit 4 months after I applied. I did have to maintain constant contact with the sherifs office but everything went smoothly. I hand delivered everything. good luck with your permit
