When I lived in NYC I registered my H&K SL-8. When I sent the form in, they sent me a letter back and asked me to contact them. I did and the guy asked for a picture of the rifle "because doesn't Heckler & Koch make assault weapons." So I sent in a picture and they returned the registration form with the annotation "no pistol grip" and "5 round capacity." I know someone else who has a currently registered SL-8 in NYC.
**NYC ONLY** List of Successfully registered Rifles/Shotguns.
I have come across a lot questions about what long arms are and are not NYC legal on this and in other forums. The NYPD has a small list of specific rifles/shotguns that are illegal, but no list of allowable long arms. Since the NYPD does not maintain its own list of what can be registered I thought it would be helpful for NYC people help one another out and list what rifles/shotguns that they have successfully registered.
