if i were to install a bullet button mag release like calif uses with a 10 round magazine so i would now not have a detachable magazine and not more than 10 rounds, would this now allow me to have a non pinned muzzle device? i would still retain the A2 rifle stock and pistol grip but now my evil features would be pistol grip and muzzle device..............thanks for any input.

Law is 'two or more' evil features.
A pistol grip and flash supressor is one plus one equalling two evil features.

Mag outside the pistol grip is a handgun thing.

If you could make a 10rd mag absolutely permanant it might fly, but there will be some dickweed prosecutor out there who will play the once an ar always an ar game until a manufacturer comes out with it as part of the receiver forging and markets it that way.
(ain't gonna happen for a tiny niche market like us, or it would have been out there 20 years ago)

To the best of my knowledge there's never been a definition on how to permanantly affix a mag into a receiver (I vaguely recall that epoxy wouldn't do it) and even if so, I'd MUCH rather have detachable mags over a changeable muzzle device any day of the week.
