The Pennsylvania State Police recently announced that the Pennsylvania Instant Check System (PICS) for licensed firearm retailers will be unavailable for use from 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, until approximately 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22.* This outage is due to an upgrade of the Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History System (PATCH)-which is utilized by the Pennsylvania State Police and the public to obtain criminal history record checks.
