The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) has drafted a plan to guide management of the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge for the next 15 years.* This 9,184-acre refuge is located in Cayuga, Seneca and Wayne Counties and was established in 1938 to provide nesting, feeding, and resting habitat for waterfowl and other migratory birds.* In the drafted plan, three alternatives are presented for public review.* Alternative A would keep things as they currently are.* Alternative B would open new opportunities and more accessible sites for hunting.* Alternative C is similar to Alternative B, but would leave waterfowl hunting in its current state.
