I'm a waterfowl hunter, and am proud that we (duck and goose hunters) have stepped up an adopted non-toxic shot to preserve the resource we both manage and pursue. I wish the current generation of hunters would stop freaking out about efforts to regulate the use of lead in ammunition, and instead step up and take the lead in developing sensible rules for adopting it. I, for one, now only use copper-solids for my shotgun slugs for deer hunting, and hope new options for all calibers continue to be developed.
I think if we stepped up and supported lead-free hunting ammunition, we have a better chance of preserving the use of lead ammo for use at ranges, where it can be controlled, recycled, managed, etc.
