TROY - A preliminary hearing for a Georgia man was postponed Tuesday as a Rensselaer County grand jury weighs evidence that he traveled to the city from Georgia with three illegal guns to sell.
Alfonso Pettigrew, 25, of Lilburn, Ga., appeared before City Court Judge Christopher Maier for the hearing, which was postponed until Thursday unless he is indicted by the grand jury in the meantime, officials said.
Pettigrew was returned to the county jail without bail.
