new 2014 hunting license problems

Just logged on and the DEC website says the problem has been remedied. DMP applications are now being accepted online.
Not to hijack, but I thought licenses were supposed to get cheaper? ! They made everything "a la carte" and did away with combination licenses. Last year, my resident Super Sportsman + Fishing with the DMP was $98. This year I have to buy Hunting, Bowhunting, Muzzleloading, Turkey, DMP, and 1 year Fishing for ...... drum roll, please . . . . . . . $97. Where's the savings?!

NYS's corrupt *******s want you to buy your license online!! They collect all kinds of info when you do as well like the IP address of the computer used. With that said, many many places that use to issue licenses for over 25 years have now ended the practice and the State came in and gave them cards with the website where people can go to purchase their licenses and instructed these business owners to "make sure people get these cards". The site is run by a 3rd party so I suppose if you trust this state govt ... have at it. Those cards found their way to the garbage can!! Saratoga Tackle and Archery is one of the businesses that has been forced out of issuing them and what's bad is people had become accustomed to getting a one day fishing permit there as he's near a campground and the Lake. No more. The people of this state need to make a friggin stand now before ALL is lost. The princess is laughing at us because he knows NY'ers are too scared to do a damn thing about it.

Bought mine at a LGS a few days ago.
No problems and received my DMP.

Bought mine at Gander Mtn last night in New Hartford. I asked before hand if they were having issues, said they were working fine that day. Went ahead and got mine and got my DMP as well. I don't understand why it's broken up instead of having the sportsman and super sportsman like they used to have. To tell you the truth I'm not even sure what I got last night. I know I told them deer, turkey and archery. Not sure if I'm covered for small game or what? I know bear tags are in there too with the deer (big game). I'll have to look it over. It was $57 for whatever I got.

Big game and small game are together if big game is purchased. I used to get the Super Sportsman which had it all except the doe tag .... it was $98. This year, it'll be $97 and that's with a ... what was it .... a $3 or $5 drop in the price of a fishing license? Theorhetically, that SHOULD have meant the Super Sportsman at the very least should have been more of a drop in price. This is why I say it's costing more this year to hunt and fish in NYS. That $3 or $5 isn't reflected at all ... only $1 is. Ohhhhh ... monster savings there huh??

Yeah but Cuomo got a free sound byte that was played and printed all over the state. Everyone thinks he is doing sportsmen a favor because they don't use black rifles.
Joke is on them now.
Also if you buy a Super Sportsmen they don't have a data trail on if you do or do not use firearms. Now the fishermen can be extracted from the databas

Well I have a lifetime license and went to get my DMP permits.Well not sure if it was the system or the person doing it.I get land owners preference and some how they guy gave me a land owners preference in a different area and not my area, and did not even get a DMP for my area. I called the DEC today and supposedly they fixed it and are mailing me out new DMP permits. My new tags are camo in color with silhouettes of hunters on them. I know people that got yellow tags, so I guess both colors are fine.

You're already giving them your name, address, and other info. Why does it matter if they have your IP address?

It's not just the IP address. From what I've been told by some in DEC, this IS the database that we've been waiting for. It's done by a third party and is only compiling info on those that get a hunting license .... why ??? .... because they know you obviously own guns. That's what I've been told by some in DEC ... how true this is I don't know, but I'm not ever going to say this isn't true. It certainly is plausible. Wouldn't it be nice to track the IP ??? Think about it. This is the NYS govt we're talking about.

Clearly using the same software vendor as ObamaCare, I'm sure someone connected to Cuomo made a small fortune on this new program. Not unlike the NEW drivers license with the B&W picture that cost more than the color picture but was still chosen.
