my brothers dad has been hunting birds in greece since 1947 as a child and has hunted big game all over world

he is a pistol permit holder in nyc (buisness premise, home premise) due to his large amount of cash biusnesses

he is looking at starting to try hunting in usa for first time ever (at the age of 73!)

he hold a hunting permit for south africa from 1980s and a current one from greece (for birds and small game)

his english is pretty choppy (even though he has been here for 48 years)

is there anyplace that alLows a translator or does course in greek?

I WILL EVEN PAY AN INSTRUCTOR TO GIVE THE COURSE PRIVATELY SO AS NOT TO MUDDY OTHER PEOPLES HUNTER SAFETY CERTIFICATE EXPERIANCE

WHILE NOT FAMILY HE HAS BEEN LIKE A DAD TO ME AND I WOULD LOVE TO TAKE HIM TO SHOW HIM HOW WE DO IT IN THE USA! HE HAS TAKEN LARGER THAN DEER GAME BEFORE (ABOUT 2000 POUNDS LARGER)

OH YEAH HE IS US CITIZEN SINCE 1980S

^ +1. The DEC is fairly accepting of hunting licenses and courses taken outside of NYS as proof of training, so definitely give that a try. If for some reason he's still required to take the hunter ed course, I heard the DEC is offering online courses (not in all Counties however). The online option would be nice since you'd be able to run the text through Google translate or a similar online translator tool to convert the English to Greek.

Yep, check with DEC, and he should be good to go (as long as he has a license/permit that he can show). Here's from the DEC website:
All Hunting and Bowhunting Licenses--To qualify for any license to hunt (with firearms or bows), the applicant must present either: (1) proof that he or she successfully completed an approved hunter education course; or (2) proof that he or she previously held a hunting license.

I believe NYS cutoff is 1970 now for hunter ed or last owned hunting license. Definetly worth calling DEC though. If they do not honor his past experience or class. Im sure if you speak to a hunter ed instructor in your area they would allow an interpreter to be there as long as its not disruptive to the rest of the class.
