I am going to do my house in steel when the shingles go.
I have steel on my garage, it is 4/12 pitch and the snow sits on it initially, but as soon as the sun comes out it all slides right off in big chunks, and it isn't even heated in there.
My shingles hold snow terrible, two years ago I had to shovel it off 4 times.
