For those closely following the Bruen decision, local 2nd Amendment politics, and for those concerned about their 2nd Amendment rights in New York. County Executive Bruce Blakeman, a so called republican, is ignoring calls from local constituents to implement constitutionally mandated changes to his pistol licensing process.

His office, and the Commissioner for Nassau County Police, are passing the buck, not based on the law, but based on political expedience - claiming that changes are contingent on guidance from the State. We've waited too long, essentially 100 years for Nassau County to get it right.

We have "republican" leadership in Nassau County, and if we can't fix it in Nassau County, what should we expect from democrat county executives?

Many of the obstacles in Nassau County are created locally, completely independent from any state laws - and the emails from New York State Police confirm this. Make your voices heard! Call Blakeman's office at 516-571-3131, and tell them to stop acting like REDCOATS! Stop with the excuses!

He is listening to Albany, waiting for 9/1/22 to go in effect.
Like many other counties in New York, awaiting guidance from Albany.
He could do the right thing and allow all the existing licenses to amend to Unrestricted and score huge points with his constituents who elected him as a no nonsense, County Executive.
