The media and the leftists keep saying that 40% of all firearms are sold without background checks. this is completely misleading as this would include gifts to family members, inheritances, etc... The number is closer to 10%.

It is based on surveys which are.... well, surveys of grups of people so its alway an approximation. But their numbers is grossly higher based on how they manipulate the data.

The only guns I've ever gotten without doing a background check were Christmas and birthday gifts, with the only exception being a Calico M-100 I bought for 35 bucks years ago. Good luck finding a 7 round mag for that gun, it was called the "100" for a reason.

I bought some Mosin Nagant 91/30's for Xmas gifts this year. They were 129 shipped, and there's a nice old guy who lives 1/2 mile away who does transfers for 25 bucks. I hate malls.
