Any tips to restore an old Mossberg?

i already figure I will clean the wood with olive oil.
Whats te best way to clean the old gunk and oil off of the metal, without damaging it?
Recommendations for any cleaning/blueing products will be appreciated.
Im more concerned with the rifle functioning, not resale value.
Thanks!

For general cleaning i use Hoppes #9 Solvent and/or BreakFree CLP. A good metal brush kit will help remove any rust or pitting..

I once bought a cosmo'd SKS and used MeanGreen de-greaser on the metal. Worked great, just don't take it to wood.

For wood, any good gun oil or furniture oil should do the trick. Again for my wood i use a BreakFree cleaning rag (oil infused rag) shines the wood up real perrrrty like ;)

Good luck!
