I'd like to see if some of you Mosin owners could give me some sweet ideas that I can do to my Mosin Nagant. I plan on hunting when I get back from Iraq, and I'm wanting to make my Mosin a little more "tactical" so to speak. Post some pictures of custom Mosins that you all have! I'll post mine, or at least the most current picture since my friend, DystruktoBoi1 (on this site) is basically adding everything I buy to the weapon. I currently have a Tula manufactured, Russian 1942 Mosin Nagant resting in an ATI stock, a scope I got for $100.00 that has 36 or something like that, different crosshair colors you can choose from, it has a sweet cartridge holder (holds 9 I believe) on the buttstock, a nice extendable bipod, and an ATI scope mount. I plan on having the entire barrel re-blued as well as the bolt. I plan on having the bolt turned down so it can cooperate with the scope mount. Also, I plan on having a nice safety pull-ring added to the end of my bolt to make it easier to place my bolt in the safe position. I'll try to post pictures of my Mosin as well as ideas that I'm going off of currently to mod my Mosin. The more ideas, the better!

This is my Mosin as of now. My friend is holding up the scope since I have to have the mount drilled and tapped. Work in progress.

This is the bolt idea I'm going with. The safety pull-ring as well as the turned down bolt handle. Except, I want my all black.

This is the magazine I would LOVE to add, if only it would be produced. Necromancer (the guy making it) is still testing it.

And FINALLY, this is what I'm AIMING to get my rifle to look like. I absolutely love the way it looks. I saw it on Armslist for sale for about $550 I believe. If I lived near him, or if my buddy did, this would have been mine.

Anyways, post what you guys have! I'd love to see some fellow Mosins as well as some modification ideas! If you have any Mosins for sale, PLEASE let me know. I am in the market for another! Thank you!

Firearms i think the barrel these guys have is what hes talking about. I've never ordered from the before so i cant speak on their customer service.
Thanks! I looked and I think having a barrel that big (almost looking like a shotgun) looks a little weird, lol.

Not mine, not sure what to make of them, but if you want a project, here's three ideas that ought to keep you busy.
[/QUOTE Not gonna lie, that last one looks pretty sweet. Thanks for the image! I love ideas

That's my baby so far. Needs a little more done to it though. Waiting on my friend to send out the bolt to get the handle reworked and the entire bolt blued. :)

Personally I would have left a beautiful russian piece of history in original condition, but to each his own. In your case, for sure if you are putting a scope ontop of it, opt for the PU sniper turned down bolt if you can find one. My Russian PU sniper bolt is as smooth as a Krag Jorgensen bolt. Also, if possible to add onto a mosin, a Dragunov SVD flash hider would top it off. Good luck with her, very nice rifles.

Id like to have 2 of them, one to "accessorize", and the other in origional condition. Lucky for me these things are cheap enough to own 3 or 4 or 5 or 6.

Yeah, I know what you mean about leaving history alone, but, I plan on buying another one to keep original. I'm looking into buying a 1934 Tula Arms Mosin-Nagant with a hex receiver and matching bayonet. I am only modding this because my friend got the luck of buying one with all matching parts to include the bayonet. So I'm in search of a 100% matching to keep in a box and leave alone. Lol. But yeah, I've got bolt work being done and the FLASH HIDER is an AMAZING Idea that I didn't think about. That's going on my to-do list. Thanks!
