"and if the violence downstate continues, there will be action."

Im certainly not saying it would work , but since they realize the problem is downstate, why must they make state wide laws. Go ahead and make downstate as "safe" as you want and leave us ******* upstaters alone!

We just have to ensure the Senate stays red.

Wow, the Dems sure were serious with that "never let a crisis go to waste" stuff. How convenient for them that there are 2 high-profile shootings in a row, during a slow news season.

Even Bloomberg knows (and admits) that the guns used in crimes in the City come from out of state. Restricting NY's law-abiding gun owners even more will do absolutely nothing, other than trample on freedom.

Because New York wouldn't be New York if "The City" (as it so arrogantly likes to call itself) couldn't call the shots. Bloomberg and those like him are happy to send NYPD to Jersey and the South, you think they're gonna let upstate out of the grip of the five boroughs if they can help it? After all you have to remember that They Know What's Best For Everyone.

Because its quite obvious that us upstate New Yorkistanians are bringing our legally purchased sub machine guns and full auto ak's and selling them to gang members in the city

guess they caught us red-handed. Get it...red-handed?
ok, yeah, that was lame.

Why don't we all just line up around the edge of the city and stop all incoming and outgoing traffic. After the corpse is done feeding on itself, we can go in, bulldoze everything flat, and have a beach party!

Dear Senator Ritchie,

I see many of your colleagues from down south are pushing for more gun control which the governor supports. I would hope that you vote no on all of these proposed bills and also go one step further. Offer an amendment to every gun control bill that states there are no exemptions for any government employees, agencies or retired agents of those entities for the weapons and ammunition feeding devices that are being restricted or banned. This will ensure that NY is not creating/furthering a privileged class of citizens in the state. If any weapon or ammunition feeding device is deemed inappropriate for a citizen then no government agency or agent should be allowed to own or possess them on duty or off duty.

I am aware that freedom grabbers will not stop trying to control the citizens, by offering additional language to their bills it will expose their position for what it is, people control not crime control.

Thank you for your time
Michael

Nice letter. I have a hunch that explicitly calling out "downstaters are trying to dictate to all of us up here" to your representative(s) is likely to be a quite effective tactic.
