Suggestions on some good ammo, I would like 500 for around $150ish, in either .223 or 5.56

You will have to define "good" ammo. Is it just plinker ammo or are you looking for something to shoot precision target with? For plinker ammo, I've had excellent luck with Silver Bear from SGAmmo.com, Jeff and I have shot lots of this with very good results but it's not precision ammo. SB comes from SGAmmo for about $125/500 plus $14 shipping. It gets cheaper when you buy more.

Yeah just stuff to put down range, not percision stuff. I would also use it for the tactical shoots at my gun club, what you recommended should be great, thanks!

I've shot the 193 ammo. Din't see any difference from shooting Silver Bear other than you can save the brass to reload with the LC ammo. I don't reload for the AR, I can buy it for about $.24/round and I can hardly reload it myself for that price not to mention the time involved. Just took a look at SG's site, not much ammo in stock at the moment unless you want to go for a 1000 round carton of something. You have to keep checking the site, they get stuff in but it sells fast.

Relatively clean burning, good brass cases. Pretty decent ammo.
