It's a Colt. They made 2 runs, one run with a Carbona Blue finish, and the other(mine) with a Black Oxide finish. There's another run more recent, with the 100 Year banner on the side, I've been looking for one of those. It came with a copy of the original manual and box.

I like the looks of the old style 1911's! I have a colt 1911 fund going now. Not sure what model to get though.

I am the youngest by about 30 years and I'm 34! I love shooting and hate bowling. Needed a winter hobby to get away from the lady once in awhile. Just got a buckmark. Now I'm looking for a 1911.

I'll play. Here are the three 41s that live here with us. One is mine, one the wife's, and one the daughter's. We shoot steel plates with them.

My Kimber Custom Classic, a first edition, not a Gen. II.

And my pocket 1911 I cut at work.

Everything else I have is plastic of some sort.

Colt's are a bit expensive right now, I guess one can say when haven't they been, but they really hold their value well. Keep the funds close by and be patient, the right gun will show up when you're ready. Research the 1911's before you make the move. The Springfields, Rugers, Remington etc are fine guns, they're just not a Colt. Not looking to start a war here, this is all just my opinion of course.

Lol, I read the title to this thread and thought what's the big deal, I've got three autos and they're all made of metal. Then I realized none of them were guns, ha, ha. Now I feel left out of the club. Some nice pistols you boys got there! Maybe I'll need to go out and buy one to celebrate the end of an error after Nov 6th. Always wanted a 1911 but that S&W 41 has been on the back burner simering for some time now. Hmm, maybe it's time to pull the trigger so to speak. Looking forward to a reason to celebrate in two weeks! More to follow....
