As a reaction to a breaking and entering that occurred this morning at my neighbors place, I felt it necessary to go but the S&W Governor! Drove up to Clelands in Toledo Ohio and left with it 1 1/2 hours later! Took all of 10 minutes to officially own it, then it took the wife 1 hr 20 min to get me out of the range hahaha. Funny thing is she wants to go back tomorrow and shoot it some more! I'll post up some pics when I get my laptop back from the repair shop but I gotta say, this thing is awesome!

Rage filled jealous replies are welcome since I understand everyone's pain lol.

I take offense to the fact that you are jealous that I have $500, and you have a .410 revolver. xD

Meh, I would have purchased a nice 12 gauge pump. Oh wait, never mind, you live in Ohio! My bad. I was thinking of NY because here in NY if your wife does not have a permit and she had to use your handgun in self defense, she would be in trouble.

Heh, well I'm not sure about the jealousy part. A Judge/Govrnerer is actually one of the very few handguns I don't want at all.. hehe. Not my first (nor second, nor 50th, and so on) choice for a self defense weapon. However, my intent is not to rain on your parade with my opinion. If you're happy with your new gun, then I am happy for you . Enjoy !

It is better than nothing! Also, I believe it also shoots 45 LC so it definitely can do some damage!!

Sure, and to each their own. Luckily for all of us there is a huge variety to choose from for an infinite variety of shooters. I figure any purchase that makes a buyer really happy was a worthwhile one, regardless of any naysayers.

The gun is more for if someone breaks in, a 410 or long colt which are both loaded will definitely suffice, if not me overkill lol.

The post was more about me just driving straight to the gun store and leaving with it the same day!

I like the 45LC/410 option, I have a bond Cowboy Defender and love it. With in the legal perimiters of self defense here in Washington State I feel confident with it in certain situations. I'd buy a Taurus Judge / S&W Govenor any day of the week for home security over any shotgun. For in the car/truck defense give me a 45LC/410 loaded with buckshot. They are very effective at that close range and have mulitple projectiles and one of them WILL HIT SOME THING YOU NEED TO STAY ALIVE!. Better then sending off a single 32 caliber projectile.
It's like mulitipule choice, Which one do you want to except into your vitale organ. More then likely in the heat of the moment you'll piss yourself when sh!t comes down and you'll miss with your $1,200 Kimber while I'll hit the mark with my $350 Bond 45LC/410 loaded with 410 Buckshot.

Anyone who thinks a .410 revolver is not a good HD firearm has never shot some Winchester PDX out of a .410, I'd say for HD use, that is one incredible revolver. And it can be loaded with .45 ACP and LC

Maybe after the Tresmonds' kick some butt with the current case, they would consider one regarding the inconsistent laws regarding individual counties. It's so annoying that my friend can pick up a pistol the same day he pays for it, but living 4 miles away from him means it takes me 4-6 weeks to pick mine up after I pay for it.

I personally don't carry the PDX shells in my Bond 45LC/410, When I took it shooting I shot 45LC, 410 rifled slugs, Buckshot and #6shot and different distances.

5 yards, 10 yards, 15 yards

The #6 shot was all over the back stop.
The 45LC was ok uo to the ten yard mark.
As well as the 410 Slugs.
The PDX shells, the three disk hit the mark either straight horizontal of at a 45% angle and had a three inch spread, But the twelve BBs were spread all over the bach stop (4'x4' cardboard). If you were to use it in an area with inocent people a few of them will be taking a BB.
The best of all of the rounds was the Buckshot out of my gun, the stayed consistantly grouped and they had deeper penetration, but you need to know what the effective range is with your gun, go and shoot beyond that safe range and other people will get struck with a stray piece of buckshot.

I'd like to get a Taurus or Govenor with a longer barrel down the road when I have the extra funds just because I like the concept of the 45 colt or 410.

You may want to check our state's laws on use of deadly force. In many, if not most states, there are very clear guidelines as to when you may and may not shoot someone. Just "breaking in" to a home is usually not considered justifiable. I am not saying I agree with it, but you could find yourself in a great deal of trouble.
