I think the waiting for my wifes ontario county permit is so far harder than mine!!

Im sure it will be the same 8 months but MAN...its like watching paint dry to be able to go to the range with my wife. My goodness, the Process in NY is so darn LONG!! PA was 5 min..........But im just waiting...im thinking about august or september we might start getting calls and having it move along. she did all her stuff around xmas so......

Wait I must........I actually want to go with my wife to go to the range vs going to range to escape her. LOL WhoDaThunk!!

Maybe with a little luck it'll go through faster. Told my wife that when I go to pick up my permit I'm getting an application for her. I think that once she tries it and learns a little about it, she'll get into it. Well I'm hoping anyway, lol.

Expect 12 or 13 months. I just got mine about 5 months ago and it took 13 months, after they told me 8 to 10.

Good luck....mine didnt think she;d like it but she LOVES it.......Hates long guns but loves that little mosquito. WE joke about who's better.

mine took 8 months. luckily I was in school and I just picked up an AK at the time so I had some distractions

As soon as they called my references, I had my permit 4 weeks later, hope that helps with a "time frame"

Nope.....not a single reference has been called and they all are in. See.....WE collect the references,,, then WE mail them...this ensures all is timely. Shhhhhh

But we also heard Officer mumby who does them for ontario cty is going on a week vacation soon so.....

I will probably get my Utah Permit before she gets here.....july will be about 60 days on that.............By now I thought it would atleast be in the references stage!

She called the pistol clerk and was told sherriffs office has it...call them.

called them asked when submitted.....then paused and said.....well its not a year yet so Im sure it'll be along......

So basically got No idea....she asked if they were behind and they stated nope....its not a year to be patient.

Okay...no pissing them off I guess........SIGH.......

Heck I can take my SON and HE can shoot with the cert instructor but she still yet cant......arghhh.
I asked instructor if she could participate in our pistol league and said hope over 21....which I sorta knew but thought Id double check what I knew..

so...my son(15) and I can but not her....too bad......

If it makes you feel any better I turned all my stuff in march 2 in orleans county and havnt heard one word . I had thought this county was fast but i guess things have changed.

Ok. so I broke down and early this week emailed the Sherrif's dept. They actually were very nice and very responsive. Initial response in one day and actually an "answer" on the 2nd day!! Impressed.

The answer was actually specific vs a generic yes we have it. They said she was the 4th person in line to get asigned to an invesigator and should be another week or two. When I got mine it was about a solid month to month and 1/2 before I got my letter saying to pick it up.

Given that she is on line for about the 8 to 9 month mark. Again was very surprised that I just did not get a generic yeah we got it its in process sorta answer.

They were very nice and good about. They said sorry they are just getting alot of applications. I still think 8-9 months in crazy but I know they legally have a year so...what can you do..its ny. But I just had to know as I thought to myself she should be hearing from them about now in the process.
