Have we ever definitively been able to rule out a tig-welded magazine lock?
If a mag lock were tig-welded on to the triggerguard, and you needed a tool to remove the mag, in practice it is not a detachable magazine, and not readily restorable (I know readily restorable is a BATF standard not NYS standard).
