Just got back from shooting about 500 rounds and got done cleaning my guns and wondered how often I should clean the mags.

I take mine apart and clean every time I get back from the range.

Rarely. Some mags are a big PITA to break down. My Glock 26 mags are a real pain to get apart.

Pistols 1x every year or so.
Long guns, barring super cleaning for refinishing prep, mabe twice in the last 20 years or so.
Wipe off the feeds lips/external stuff and move on.
