I remember someone telling me 10 days but I'm not positive.
I was 2-3 months as well....I was no longer in possession..paper trail to gun store then some guy bought and took it home after he rec'd PO...I was waiting for a second gun to sell so I would go to Clerk's office just once...i waited 3 months one time, clerks didn't care
I think that is paranoia talking...but a little bit of paranoia isn't a bad thing.ok....maybe my paranoia is working overtime, but when I sold a pistol, I had it removed the very next day the County Clerk was open.
Think about it....if this person should happen to go out and do something illegal with the pistol, it will get traced back to YOU. Worst case, you're sharing a cell with the guy. Best case, you're still spending money defending yourself when you didn't need to.
Yes, this authorization process for ownership of pistols can be onerous at times, but don't ignore it and hope that nothing bad will happen. All it takes is one instance, and your life will be forever changed.
