I was in the court house the other day in the pistol permit area and I overheard that they have now dropped the 7 round limit. Any truth, or misinformation?

You're probably the 10th person that has started a new thread with this question, without searching to see if this question has already been answered.

And it has been. Repeatedly. In multiple threads.

The decision was handed down on 12/31/13 that the 7 round limit was arbitrary and no longer valid.

Seems like old news now.

Honestly, you dont even have to use the search button, all you have to do is click on the laws and politics section and scroll down, and your bound to find an answer. I'm not even specifically direct this toward the OP. 75% of the people who have signed up in the last year are absolutely terrible at this. I hope this thread gets CLOSED.

To the defense of the person asking... other threads have hardly answered the question. We know about the decision... but we also know that D.A's around the state will not apply the ruling citing a lack of state court ruling.

If anybody is able to point to the change in language in the law... then this question has been answered. I haven't seen that yet, and I don't trust that the state police will accept my assertion that a federal judge has ruled the restriction invalid. I know that my county jurisdicitons will respect the ruling... but there are other law enforcement bodies on the road and I do travel away from my home county from time to time.

I am not satisfied that this has been answered. If someone could point to the language that demonstrates that this court decision is being respected, I (as well as the author of this thread) would appreciate it.

BTW, searching "10 rounds", "7 round limit", "7 rounds struck down" and the like... does not lead the person searching to much of an answer. We have a year's worth of discussion on these terms... too much data to search to get a quick clear answer.

I hate that 'do a search, dude' type of response. If you know the answer, then answer and provide a link if searching for the info is so easy. Forums are for communicating (asking current questions, providing up-to-date answers, quickly and efficiently)... don't smack a person down for doing just that. If it has been answered elevendy billion times... then answer it once more. Forget the search button, use the REPLY button and give a good reply.

Short answer is a federal judge put us back to the 10 round limit but technically that decision is only valid in that federal district and not the entire state (stupid I know). Accordingly, some county DA's have said they will continue to abide by the 7 round limit.

And the SAFE act website still says 7.

In less than five minutes, without even using the search function, I found the following links to other threads on this forum that all discuss the same topic. There are many more, but I wasn't willing to dedicate more than five minutes of my time to this. When I said "You're probably the 10th person..." I wasn't exaggerating; I was being conservative. But hey, let's start the discussion one more time...

I believe that was before King Dip**** came out and said ten is the new rule.
