Thought this was pretty cool and it may help someone out down the road.

Went to take my 2 y/o out to the pond to feed the fish, and the dogs were going to come with us. As I opened up the door to head into the mud room I hear a hissing and a kind of barking. I figure the dogs cornered the cat and I would have to break it up. Close, they cornered a racoon that came in through the cat door. Fortunately the mutts listen pretty well. After a little yelling they leave it alone and come in. Being that it was inside on a concrete floor I didn't think shooting it was an option, but grabbed the .22 anyway. By this time it went into the crawl space under the house. Between the 2 dogs, guests arriving at the B&B any minute, and the 2 y/o I figured I better call in back up :) Called my neighbor to watch the little guy and deal with the guests, while I penned up the dogs. When the neighbors come over the husband is messing with his phone and goes back outside trying to download something, and I'm kinda thinking, well at least he's here for moral support. I should have known better. He pulls up a racoon calling video off youtube, and I couldn't believe how quick the **** came out of the crawl space. He was a little hesitant at first going out into daylight, but all in all it was perfect.

Figured I would pass this along incase anyone else finds them selves with one of these little bandits in their house.

LOL @ your thoughts on moral support, only to find out that the guy was actually in a moment of genius!

i have a couple friends like that, and it totally pisses me off that I don't think of that kind of stuff!

Nice to year you didn't shoot it, it gets to live another day, for now anyway (or did you pop it when it came out?)

Nope let him go, as long as he doesn't make a pest of himself, he's safe. The dogs did followed his trail till they got to the invisable fence wire. It's amazing watching them follow a scent.
