I'm looking for a gunsmith (hopefully local) who is experienced with the AR 15?
I have a S&W M&P 15ORC and I want to install an 11" or 13" Troy VTAC Alpha rail, which will require a low profile gas block. When I put the low profile gas block on I want to pin it to the barrel. I could send it to ADCO or Ranier, but would prefer to deal with someone local.
As an alternate to pinning the gas block I wonder if dimpling the barrel for the set screws, using red loktite, and staking the set screws could also work. If staking works to secure the gas key to the bcg, it should work on the gas block.
