do they have to follow the NYS AWB on indian reservations? for some reason i have this idea in my head they don't have to follow the same laws we do. i wonder if that applies to guns.

I've been to Turning Stone Casino and they have signs for the gaming floor but not the rest of the hotel, etc, not the Reservation but figured I would chime in with my 2 cents

Reservations have their own firearms laws. Some more strict than others.

Here's a website that lists tribal firearms laws by state:

http://www.handgunlaw.us/documents/tribal_law_ccw.pdf
I live next to an Indian reservation...and this is what I know. Depends on the particular tribe and their agreement with the particular state. Everyone is different. Easiest way to look at a reservation is it is private property, within the United States, subject to the laws of the United States, and their own law, but not subject to the laws of the individual state, UNLESS they have agreed to be so.

If you really have interest and reason to know, go to tribal council and ask. (Read up on THIER laws first)
