Gun statistics are irrelevant to the Second Amendment | Washington Times Communities

"Statistics are irrelevant to the Second Amendment.
The Second Amendment protects each individual's right to keep and bear arms. Even the Supreme Court agrees, its abysmal record protecting individual rights notwithstanding. An individual's right cannot be infringed as a result of what someone else did. It can only be infringed as a result of what that individual did. That's why we don't choose people at random for prosecution when a robbery is committed. An investigation is made to determine the specific individual who committed the crime, so he or she can be tried and sentenced."

Very true. Statistics are used to try and prove something and the reality is even if statistics were stacked against us (which obviously they are stacked massively in support of private ownership) it wouldn't matter because its a Constitutionally protected right.

Then there needs to be stiff penalties levied against those that seek to take our rights away.

You have to ask yourself, are they that unaware of the law or are they just that fking incompetent?

which means they are either knowingly promoteing an anti American agenda or are to stupid to understand thier job,in either case they are not qualified for the position and need to be removed

I don't think this is entirely true. It depends on the lever of scrutiny applied vs. compelling need. The 2A is not limitless as per Justice Scalia. You can check with the lawyers but I think they will agree that there are some limits that can be applied to all Constitutional Rights. One agreed upon by most is the compelling need for the state to deny access to weapons of mass destruction following The St. Valentine's Day Massacre.
