Hi all,

Living in Manhattan, NY, and being discouraged all my life, I decided to exercise my 2A rights late in life. I'm 49 and only applied for my NYC premises permit (NY County) 109 days ago (yes, I'm counting!).
I don't know what to expect. Some say a year minimum, others say two years and up...

I don't know how to use this forum well, so I hope you will be patient with me! Any light you can shed for this new owner-to-be, would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum. I live in Queens, have had a Premises for 41 years, applied for Carry right after Bruen (June 26 application) and after many docs, forms, emails, notarizations, 16+2 class etc, just got my Notice to pick it up on Mar 30. That's a lot different than your situation, since I already had a Premises. The bad news for you is I have heard that since Bruen 1PP has gotten 500,000 applications so they are focusing on Carry applications for people already in system with Premises. Accordingly they have done some things to speed up the process that benefit us, such as reducing the number of times you have to go to 1PP.

Best of luck to you.

Welcome to the forum and glad to hear you decided to exercise your rights. Of what the guy above heard is true now we see what NYS/NYC was so scared of with 500,000 people applying already. That’s great news. I hope you get your permit quickly but be patient as lots is going on right now. Also a lawsuit is being heard on Monday for us to get more of our rights back.

The law gives them six months to respond.

SURELY the government would never violate the law :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Oh they find ways around that. In my county they say it’s the licensing officer and that’s the judge. So they leave the packet sit on a desk a permit office until the judge is ready to sign them.

I’ve heard of some counties making people wait 6+ months just for fingerprints to hand in the application. They have gateway to screw you.
I hope the second circuit screws is and this goes to the Supreme court and they lay the smack down on them…. A guy can dream right?
